Gardens for the Soul                    To view additional images, click on Play or Arrows at top of image

Spending time in a garden can be a spiritual experience – the beauty of the flowers, the silence, the butterflies and birds flitting from plant to plant. Just sitting and inhaling the feeling is good for the soul. These paintings are about simplicity, paring down. Life is busy and these are about slowing down. I look for the organic shapes in front of me and do small sketches. These become the basis of the paintings. I have chosen to use a limited palette, again to signify the simplicity I am looking for. Shape and the colour are what I am portraying, with a graphic design quality.
